Outreach Cookie Use

How Outreach uses cookies

Outreach uses cookies for several different purposes:

  • If you choose the option to optimise for screen reader use, Outreach uses a persistent cookie to remember your choice for the next time you use the system.
  • Some solutions based on Outreach can be set up to allow website Analytics to track your progress as you navigate through the system. This information is typically used to identify points of difficulty within the system so that, for example, extra help can be provided where needed.
  • Temporary cookies, known as session cookies, are used to ensure that the behaviour of Outreach remains logical and consistent during the time you are using the system. And if you need to log on to the system, session cookies are also used to ensure that you remain logged in for the entire duration of your use of the system.

What is in a cookie?

A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server and only that server will be able to retrieve or read the contents of that cookie.

Each cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier and the site name and some digits and numbers. It allows a website to remember things like your preferences or what’s in your shopping basket.
